Nine days old already

Time sure is flying by quickly!  Kate Ellen is doing wonderfully and starting to pack on the weight!  We are expecting she'll be back at her birth weight next week and then chubbing it up from there on out!  Right now she is still looking like her daddy (she has his eyes) - but looks like she has mommy's nose, mouth and ears - phew!  She also has fantastic fingers that are perfect for trips to the salon for manicures!  Just like mommy!

Here are a few pics from this week!  We learned yesterday that putting her bouncy chair in the crib with her Sleep Sheep noisemaker on the ocean sound works great!  She dozes right off! Amazing - maybe I will get to sleep in my bed for a short while tonight!

Enjoy the pics!

XOXO,
Jen
My Grandma & Grandpa Mikulski and Aunt/Uncles & Cousins had this waiting for me when I came home from the hospital!

Introducing Kate Ellen, born February 15, 2011

Well, at last, I have a real update for you and now am so proud to introduce Kate Ellen Mikulski.  Paul & I were admitted on Monday night (02/14/11) and induced Tuesday morning.  We got the show going at 8am and by 2:21pm, Kate decided to arrive.  She weighed in at 7lbs, 6oz and was 21 inches long.  She did great and I feel well.  It is amazing how much we love her already and the love keeps growing exponentially.

We came home on Thursday and have had a few good nights.  I have even managed to get about 4-5 hours of sleep per night (of course, not all at the same time).  My mom (aka Nonnie) is here until March 1st and helping out a lot with the night time duty along with Paul.

Here are a few pictures I took today.  I am working on remembering to keep the shutter going as she will not be this teeny tiny for long.

XOXO,
Jen (aka Mommy)

Officially 1 more day, but we'll see

Ahhh, SuperBowl Sunday - that would have been a great thought to deliver just before kick-off this afternoon and welcome Baby M to the world of the NFL!  However, it is now almost 1pm and I am thinking the possibility of that happening now is slim to none!  Oh well!  Maybe the excitement of the game will send me into labor!

Last night we watched episodes of 24 - the suspense of Jack Bauer may also do the trick!  And I made Paul play Canasta with me (it's a great card game for those of you who don't know it) and I won outright!  Hoping that would give me naming rights to Baby M, but we are still deciding...ugh - what a big decision to make for your unborn child!

As of Friday, I was making progress at my dr's appt - nothing too exciting, but without going into personal details...baby looks great and is in the right position!  I had a quick ultrasound and Baby even flipped me the bird!  I have a picture and am trying to upload, so stay tuned!

Needless to say, we made it through the crazy blizzard of 2011!  So much hype!  But if I were a baby, I would stay inside as well and get through the storm in the cozy warmth of momma!  Therefore, I am convinced our child is already at genius level IQ!!!

So, stay tuned, here's hoping that our next post will be more of an announcement rather than an update!  Who knows, maybe Baby M will arrive tomorrow on it's Mommy & Daddy's 2nd wedding anniversary!  That would be great too!

Hope you all have a great time watching the big game and looking forward to sharing more news very soon!

XOXO,
Jen
